It’s a funny thing how the start of a new year can be the motivating force behind making positive changes in our lives…new diet, new hairstyle, finding a better work-life balance. At the start of a new year it feels like anything is possible!
The question is how do we maintain the focus and make these changes effective and long lasting?
Having a clear intention behind the change you want to make will add some substance to your progress. Try the following:
Start to make a list of the areas you would like to change and then the outcomes you’re seeking. Now start to identify the ways you can make the changes you want to see. You can make this process as plain or pretty as you like. Be creative in the way you jot this down…colorful and fun. Or write in on a scrap of paper…just taking the time to make the note to self will begin the magic and inspiration will flow.
Be prepared to challenge yourself too…keeping account of your progress via a journal or enlisting the help of like minded friends for support will make the steps towards change a reality that sticks. And remember the benefit if working with professionals when you need that bit extra.
